Make it shine

Detailing

Happy bike, happy life. A sponge bath and rubdown will work wonders — and a clean motorcycle is one you'll pull over just to stare at.

What the island does

Salt, grit and standing water

By the time a bike looks tired, whatever made it look tired has had a long head start.

Park it outside and it collects a film that's quietly eating the finish. It just looks like a bike that needs a wash.

Salt reaches inland, wet-season grit packs into every recess, and corrosion starts out of sight: in the linkages, behind the engine and under the tank, where a wash never reaches.

Detailing isn't vanity here. It's the fastest way to find a weep, a chafed cable or a fastener going soft, because somebody is looking at every inch.

The cheapest thing you can do for a bike here, and the only one that tells you what else it needs.

Choose your level

Three levels of pampering

  1. Washing

Soft-tool hand wash, shampoo and rinse, wheels and the corners a quick wash misses. You sip the coffee; we do the dirty work.

  2. Detailing

Clean, rinse, degrease, treat, polish, wax and lube — every panel, every recess, every fastener. The deep-tissue version.

    On enquiry
  3. Polishing

Machine polishing to lift finer scratches and stubborn staining and bring the depth back. For when a superficial swivel won't do.

Detailing is priced by the bike and the state it arrives in, so every one is quoted before we start. Pick-up or delivery: Ubud area IDR 300,000, elsewhere in Bali IDR 750,000, each way.

Send a photo and we'll tell you which level it actually needs.

No mystery

How it works

  1. Tell us about it

The bike, how dirty it is, and whether it's coming in for a service anyway. A photo helps.

  2. Book it in

Drop it at Jalan Raya Mas in Ubud, or ask about collection — Ubud IDR 300,000, elsewhere in Bali IDR 750,000.

  3. Wash and decontaminate

Soft tools and hand work, recesses included. Nothing high-pressure goes near bearings or chain seals.

  4. Detail and correct

Degrease, treat, polish and protect, with machine correction where the finish needs lifting.

  5. Back to you

Lubed, checked over, with a note of anything we noticed while inches from every part.

Getting it serviced anyway?

Add a spa treatment to a service booking and it leaves looking as good as it runs.

Why not just wash it

A bike isn't a car

The boxer engine of a BMW R80 G/S

The places a hose never reaches

Radiator fins, linkages, under the tank, behind the engine: the spots that decide how a bike ages.

Hands holding a small hand tool over a bike part

No pressure washer near your bearings

We wash with soft tools and by hand, never a lance at a bearing or chain seal.

Correction, not just shine

Machine polishing removes finer scratches and stubborn staining instead of filling them.

Our crew has the healthy kind of OCD. Anything we notice up close, a leak, a worn pad or a perished hose, you hear about. No obligation.

Questions, answered

Is this just a wash?

The wash is the first level. Detailing adds degreasing, treating, waxing and lubing, and polishing adds machine correction for scratches and oxidation. Pick on the form or ask what your bike needs.

Can you do it while the bike is in for a service?

Yes, and it's the sensible way: the bike is already here, often partly apart, so access is better. Mention it when you book the service.

My bike hasn't been cleaned properly in years.

Those are the satisfying ones. Send a photo and we'll tell you what's realistically recoverable and what's gone too far, before you spend anything.

How often should I have it done?

It depends where you ride and where the bike sleeps. Outside near the coast needs it far more often than garaged inland. Tell us your situation for a straight answer.

Do you use a pressure washer?

Not where it matters. We work by hand with soft tools and keep pressure away from anything meant to stay sealed, like wheel bearings, chain seals and switchgear.

How long will you have it?

A wash is quick; a full detail isn't, and machine correction takes as long as the finish needs. We look at the bike first, then give you a realistic time when you book.
