It wasn´t until 1971 that the Austrian Grand Prix was born at the Salzburgring circuit, thus making a splash in the MotoGP™ calendar. However, it was taken off the calendar for more than 20 years before making a triumphant return in 2016, pleasing fans all around the world. Its comeback looked set to be a permanent fixture and today, the race takes place at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Renowned to be a demanding circuit that tests the riders´ skills with its accelerating speeds and steep hills, the Red Bull ring was designed by Hermann Tilke. It has a layout that promises spectacular racing in the midst of the Styrian mountains, and is no doubt a popular event to catch, hence the quick sellout of the Austrian MotoGP™ tickets.
Those lucky enough to get tickets are in for a treat as the track showcases 10 corners and numerous speedy stretches. These make for an electrifying race that will definitely engage your inner speed demon as riders navigate the tricky track and jump at every opportunity for overtaking. Popular corners include the Remus corner, first and last one of the circuit due to its immediate connection to a speedy straight that requires top skills from riders.
